DIY Photo Blocks | Back to College

2 min read

Welcome to the final segment of my 3 part ‘Back to College’ series. I know, I’m sad too. 🙁  I previously, showed you guys how to DIY a Rustic Photo Display and a Giant Mouse Pad.  For this last DIY, we will be creating Photo Blocks! Don’t worry, you don’t have to make 3 like I did. Even one of these blocks will add a level of unique personalization to any part of your room.

Step One:

Paint your wooden blocks with the acrylic paint.

Step Two:

Once your paint has dried, place your first photo in the center on one side of the block.

Step Three:

Use a paintbrush to apply Modge Podge over the photo and cover the entire side of the block. Be sure to use a generous amount. Allow the Modge Podge to completely dry, before moving to the other sides of the block.

I chose to add the letters of my name to the side of this DIY, but this step is completely optional. Instead of using an additional photo, I used a letter. I applied E6000 glue to the back of the letter and placed it onto the side of the block. Hold for 30 seconds.

Yes, I made two posts in one day! Check out 5 Creative Photo Arrangements!

  1. I’m starting my freshman year in August, and I’m gonna try this DIY out ! I’ll let you know how it goes! ❤️

  2. These are so cute! My mom is so obsessed with little DIY art projects like this, so I will definitely be trying this out with her! 🙂

  3. DIY versions make them more memorable! When I saw my cousin did one for herself, I think it had an effect on me to remember that specific photo she used in there
