24 Hours in Washington D.C | Travel Guide

3 min read

With towering monuments, beautiful scenery, and hundreds of unique dining experiences, our nations capital has it all. Last weekend, I visited D.C on a whim. No exaggeration. All, except one, of my classes were canceled, so my friends and I decided this was the perfect opportunity for a road trip. 🙂 Yes, we took an 8 hour road trip from Savannah, Georgia to Washington, D.C.

Since, this was my 3rd time in this gorgeous town I figured I’m pretty such an expert on it, right? 😉 Well, not exactly… but I do have some pretty good insight on things to see, foods to eat, and places to shop in D.C.

The National Mall

The Three Soldiers

The Lincoln Memorial

The Reflecting Pool

Other Attractions:

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken

Now, fried chicken and doughnuts might sound like an odd combination, but Astro’s managed to make it work. The sandwiches and burgers are accompanied by  savory doughnut that honestly just makes the whole meal better. Astro also has an assortment of creative doughnuts with flavor combos you wouldn’t expect.

  1. YES! DC is my hometown! I know it’s cliche, but it really is the best city in the world. Next time you come, try Jeni’s ice cream on 14th and U, Johnny Pistolas in Adams Morgan (if you like Mexican food), and if you’re here in the summer, New Columbia Distillery (especially if you like gin). Come back soon!

  2. Girl love this vlog I have to definitely go back to DC and visit these places and actually go shopping too. I bet it was so much fun to take a road trip with friends omg!! I love you captured some good shots ❤️📸
