So, are the states opening back up or what? haha. Whether they are or aren’t, I’m still not going back outside. The virus is still on the loose. And since most of us will be extending our quarantines for the next few weeks, here are some healthy habits to incorporate into your routine.
1. TAKE AN HOUR
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Take a second and think about it. The first thing I do is check my phone, and I’m throwing that bad habit out the window! Take the first hour of your day for yourself. Before checking your emails, replying to text, or any of the other notifications you received throughout the night, take an hour. Spend the first hour of your day, focusing solely on yourself.
2. TALK TO GOD
There’s no way, I can make it without Him. So, it’s a natural habit for me to talk to God within the first hour of my day. I talk to him about various things, whether it’s concerning school, relationships, or my mental health. Girl, HE HEARS IT ALL! I use the Bible App daily to keep in touch and build my faith.
WANNA SEE MORE?
I know you’ve heard it a million times, so I’m here to make it a million and one times! haha. One of the best things you can do for your body is DRINK WATER! I don’t have to tell you the benefits of drinking water daily, because you already know them. But you might not know that drinking water in the morning, can help you wake up! Keep a tumbler of water on the side of your bed. Since, I already do this, I’m trying to increase the amount of water I drink. I’m aiming for 4 liters a day! 🙂
4. LISTEN TO A PODCAST
I usually try to incorporate this into the first hour of my day, but I’m not always successful. Listening to podcasts can be therapeutic, and you just have to find one that pertains to you.

5. SIMPLE SELF CARE
Let me start by saying, you don’t have to have a carefully planned, and thought out daily self care routine! My simplistic self care routine includes: washing my face, showering/exfoliating, brushing my teeth, applying a serum, and doing my hair.
6. CREATE A POSITIVE AFFIRMATION
Create a go to affirmation, that you continously state yourself. In both positive and negative situations, to redirect your energy. I personally quote a portion of the scripture, Amos 9:15. So, if you ever hear me yelling out “BLESSINGS! BLESSING!”, don’t look at me like I’m crazy. haha. You already know why.
7. TO -DO LIST
I’ll admit, I’m not always the most structured person. I don’t always do things in a certain order, I just create a daily to-do list, and I check them off.
