Honestly, I am tired of seeing #AllLivesMatter. When we use the hashtag BlackLivesMatter, it is not to imply that the lives of other individuals do not matter. It simply means the lives of African Americans are just as important. Although, the government makes it seem as if they are not.
I am not here to bash anyone’s form of protesting, whether it be peacefully or rioting. I understand it. African Americans have been peacefully protesting for over 50 years, and there has barely been a change. We, as a community, are tired of racial profiling, being falsely accused, shot, tased, and killed. So, I don’t blame the people who are participating in riots. Whether you chose to protest peacefully, riot, or show your support in a different way, I pray that you stay safe. Be mindful and aware of your surroundings and don’t act impulsively.
It is sad to see, that during protests about the oppression of African Americans, police officers still racially profile and use excessive force on black Americans.
