Another semester is upon us, and is it weird that I’m kind of excited about it? Maybe it’s just me, but after being in quarantine for months… the idea of a new semester sounds fun. haha. Maybe that makes me lame. But I think it’s a combination of a fresh start, and having something to do besides sit inside on a daily basis.
This semester I’m switching it up a little bit. The goals I’m creating don’t solely pertain to school, but to my life as a whole.
I’m not perfect, and just completely honest… I struggle with forgiveness. I genuinely try so hard to forgive people, but deep down I think some things are just unforgivable. And that’s where the problem lies because I know that I should forgive others, as Christ has forgiven me.
2. IMPROVE MY ATTITUDE
Believe it or not… I’m not always nicest person. 😬 I’m not always in a happy and uplifting mood. And sometimes, I don’t always speak to people with the respect they deserve.
3. MAINTAIN A BUDGET
Given the opportunity, I would buy everything on my amazon wish list! 🤦🏾♀️ And don’t dare take me inside of a Target or beauty supply store. But, I’m an adult and I have to do adult things, like creating a budget and setting finical goals. I have to spend my money responsibly. 🥺💔
4. IMPROVE MY SIGN LANGUAGE
I’ve been taking American Sign Language for the past 2 semesters, and I love it. I want to continue to learn about Deaf culture, the community, and the language.
5. EAT HEALTHIER
I am a work in progress, but slowly but surely I am replacing my unhealthy habits.
Yes, I am still working on this one!! As I add more hobbies, jobs, internships, and responsibilities, it gets harder and harder to find balance. It seems as if there aren’t enough hours in the day!!
JOIN THE INNER CIRCLE!!
7. PRAY MORE EFFECTIVELY
This is probably the biggest goals on my list. It’s time to do away with safe prayers. It’s time that I genuinely come to God with the things I struggle with daily, and the desires of my heart.
God, let Your will be done, search me, reveal my fears, break me, send me, disturb me.
